Speaking to ANI, DIG Harinarayanchari Mishra said,”We have seized the suicide note. In the suicide note, he has mentioned mental tension but the reason for the tension is not known as yet. We are investigating the case.”

Inspector General of Police Makrand Deoskar asserted that all aspects of the case are being investigated. Family members will also be interrogated.

Earlier in the day, Bhaiyyuji Maharaj committed suicide by shooting himself at his residence in Indore. He was rushed to Bombay Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. He killed himself an hour after his last tweet on Maha Shivratri and Gopinath Kaviraj.

Expressing grief over his demise, MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan said,”My tribute to saint Bhayyuji Maharaj. The country has lost a person who was a confluence of culture, knowledge & selfless service.”

Meanwhile, Congress leader Manak Agarwal has accused the state govt of putting pressure on the spiritual guru. “Government had put pressure on him to accept privileges and support the government, which he refused to do. He was under a lot of mental pressure. CBI probe should be done,” Agarwal stated while talking to ANI.

Notably, the incident came months after he was offered cabinet post by the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government. However, he had refused the offer saying,”A post holds no importance for a saint. All he has ought to think of is service to the people. When a post or status does not touch your mind, intellect or conscience, why think about it.”
