Big Aadhaar Update: If you are going to make changes to your Aadhaar details, then you should know that the cost of making changes to the Unique Identification Number (UID) has become costlier. It means that any changes, whether it’s demographic, biometric, or document-related, have been revised. Only the biometric update for children of a specific age will continue to be offered free. The Unique Identification Authority of India has recently updated the fee structure for the Aadhaar Card. The new fee structure will remain in effect till September 30, 2028.
Updating details on Unique Identification number will cost more, with the fee for name or address change revised from Rs 50 to Rs 75, Rs 25 hike. Biometric modifications will now be charged at Rs 125, earlier the fee was Rs 100. Notably, this marks the first change in Aadhaar update fees in five years.
As per reports, the new rates will remain applicable until September 30, 2028 and will cover details including personal, biometrics, and document details.
As per the details, UIDAI now offers fixed-cost doorstep services for people who cannot reach the Aadhaar enrolment centres. An individual will have to pay Rs 700 (including GST) for the home visit for enrolment or any kind of updates.
If multiple persons from the same household use the home visit service, the UIDAI will charge Rs 700 from the first person, while each additional member will pay a fee of Rs 350.
