Patna, Oct 24: Ahead of the third round of electoral battle in Bihar, incumbent chief minister Nitish Kumar has landed into fresh trouble after the emergence of a viral video which shows him approaching a Tantrik baba, who not only hugs him but also raises slogans against the his ally Lalu Prasad Yadav.
In the video, the Tantrik could be heard saying: “We always said ‘Nitish Zindabad’ and ‘Lalu Murdabad’, and today you have aligned with that same Lalu. Get rid of Lalu, or else your political carreer will be over.”
The controversy stoking video was uploaded by BJP leader and Union Minister Giriraj Singh on his YouTube channel. Giriraj alleges that approaching the Tantrik and getting himself recorded is a deliberate strategy of Nitish Kumar to cut ties with Lalu. “Nitish doesn’t have double standard, he has triple standard. After 2 rounds of polling Nitish has realised that the common people is no more supporting him so he has decided to get rid of Lalu,” Giriraj Singh said while speaking to a television news channel.
However, Lalu Prasad Yadav downplayed the issue and accused the BJP of attempting to manipulate the voters ahead of elections. “I am a bigger tantrik than anyone else, I don’t believe in these things,” the RJD chief said.
The following is the video uploaded by Giriraj Singh which is doing rounds on social media:
