Patna: An LIC agent was shot dead by armed assailants at his residence in Bihar’s Samastipur, news agency ANI reported on Thursday. As of now, a police probe is on.

It is a developing story, more details are awaited.

In a separate incident reported on December 30, Naxals shot one person dead in Bihar’s Aurangabad. Further, the Maoists also set four buses ablaze. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and district police were examining the case.

In another incident, Naxals allegedly burnt a truck near a mine in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district, but there no casualty, police said. The incident took place around 10.30 pm in Hedri village, located around 10 km from an iron ore mining site at Surajgarh in Etapalli tehsil of Gadchiroli, Additional Superintendent of Police Mahendra Pandit told PTI.
