Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and Bihar’s former health minister has alleged that he was attacked by an armed person while he was on a visit to Mahua, his constituency. He said a man carrying a weapon approached him, ostensibly to shake hands with him. However, after grasping Yadav’s hand, the man refused to let go. When Yadav’s security personnel got to know about the incident, they caught hold of the weapon.

Yadav has blamed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) for trying to ‘kill him’. “On my way to Mahua, an armed person held my hand and was unwilling to leave. This is a conspiracy by RSS and BJP to kill me. MLA, ministers are not safe here, how can commoners be safe,” he alleged. He also said that the attacker is yet to be nabbed. Earlier, Yadav had blamed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for hacking his Facebook account and instigating his family to fight among themselves. He said his father’s Facebook account had also been hacked in a similar fashion by the RSS. Ahead of his ‘Tea with Tej’ campaign in Mahua, a post on his Facebook page stated that RJD leader Om Prakash Yadav and Member of Legislative Council Subodh Kumar Rai are trying to tarnish his image and though he wants to take actions against them, his mother Rabri Devi is not allowing him to do so. However, later he denied it. “Why would I write such post? My Facebook account has been hacked. It is a conspiracy of the BJP and RSS to malign my image in the party. There is no dispute in my family. We stand united. We will make sure that BJP is defeated in Bihar in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections,” he said.

Yadav has a penchant for grabbing the limelight with some antic of his or the other. Last month, he got written about as he bathed at the handpump at a Dalit’s house.
