Gaya, May 11: Janata Dal (United) leader Manorama Devi has turned into the first politician of Bihar who has violated the liquor ban imposed in the state by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Devi represents JD(U) as a Member of Legislative Council (MLC) in Bihar. She was chargesheeted by the police after liquor bottles was recovered from one of her homes in Bodh Gaya, where her son Rocky Yadav, accused of killing 19-year-old Aditya Sachdeva, was hiding.
Gaya SSP Garima Malik ordered a chargesheet against Devi as well for possessing liquor despite a statewide ban imposed by the government. Ever since the arrest warrant was issued last night, Devi has been absconding. Her son Rocky Yadav, along with her husband Bindi Yadav is already under judicial custody for allegedly being the involved in the murder of Aditya Sachdeva. The entire controversy erupted on Saturday, when 30-year-old Rocky killed Aditya. The latter was driving a Maruti Swift which overtook the Rocky’s Range Rover. This filled Rocky with anguish, who used his pistol in a bid to stop Aditya. After hearing the gunshots, Aditya reportedly stopped. Rocky, along with his bodyguard assaulted Aditya and then shot him to death.
Rocky was arrested from Manorama Devi’s home near Bodh Gaya on Monday night. In the raid, police not only found liquor bottles, but the pistol which was allegedly used by Rocky to assassinate Aditya was also recovered.
