Patna, May 14: The Sessions Court in Gaya on Saturday ordered suspended Janata Dal (United) MLC Manorama Devi and her lawyer to appear before 11 am on May 20, else appropriate actions will be taken against her. The directive came a week after her son Rocky Yadav shot dead a teenager Aditya Sachdeva in an incident of rage rage in Bihar. Rocky, arrested by state police has already confessed to his crime and his father Bindi Yadav too have been detained for questioning.
Acting tough on the absconding legislator, the court clearly mentioned that they are not going to give any extension to the leader and will see that rule of law remains intact in state. Manorama has been absconding since Tuesday, after the incident came into the limelight and police found liquor bottles in her house — which has been banned by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar a month ago. Facing criticism from the opposition BJP, Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav have assured that justice will be done to kin of Aditya, and had asked the Delhi Police why Rocky was given licence for pistol. Soon after the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report stating that Asitya was shot by the bullet from Rocky’s gun, Delhi police have suspended the pistol’s licence. The bench too had sent Rocky for 14-day’s judicial custody and 48-hour police remand. However, Rocky Yadav was arrested on Tuesday morning from his father’s farm in Bodh Gaya, while the Excise Department on Wednesday sealed the house of Manorama Devi.
