Bihar teenager found dead 3 days after being kidnapped

Patna, May 4: A teenager from Bihar was found dead after he had gone missing for three days. The body of the 15-year-old boy, son of a mill owner, was found in Jehanabad, a district in Bihar. The police discovered the body with the teen’s head crushed. The teenager from the adjoining Nalanda district went missing on Sunday after he went out to play cricket at six in the evening.

Police have already taken two into custody and are investigating the matter further to get hold of the third accused. The two men arrested led police to the body. The police said, the alleged kidnappers were known to the boy. The family of the deceased teen though has denied any demand for ransom from the kidnappers, which earlier was reported as Rs 50 lakhs in national media. Police, however, say that there was an involvement of three people in the kidnapping and murder case. “Three people were involved in the kidnapping, two have been arrested, one is absconding. The boy was killed on the first day itself. Unfortunately we couldn’t save him,” Shalin, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Patna, was quoted as saying on NDTV.

As the hunt is on for the third accused, a theory that surfaced is that the boy wasn’t kidnapped for ransom, but there may have been angle of personal revenge. The fact that the teenager was killed on the first day after he was kidnapped and the culprits were known to him has forced the investigators to look into the angle of personal revenge.
