Patna, June 9: A day after Bihar’s former Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Sushil Modi attacked RJD Supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav for sheltering VR College principal Baccha Rai, an investigation conducted by a news channel exposed the toppers fiasco in the state which has brought a huge embarrassment to the government. The investigation conducted by a news channel showed Lalu Yadav’s close aide Baccha Rai demanded a huge amount of money from students to top the exams. The rate list which is allegedly managed by Baccha Rai and his associates starts from – Rs 80,000 to top the exam, Rs 50,000 for good score, Rs 10,000 for first division, Rs 8,000 to pass and Rs 15,000 for providing proxy writers.Also Read - Tej Pratap Yadav Duped of Rs 71,000 by Company Staff, Complaint Filed

Dilip Kumar a father of a student reportedly said that he too paid Rs 35,000 for his daughter to VR College Principal and owner Baccha Rai. Kumar was informed that the numbers of his daughter will be increased through Inter Council Board. “It is very common at his office one can score 60 per cent to 90 per cent if they are ready to pay handsome amount of money,” said Kumar. The above mentioned rate is however not fix and it varies from case to case. Meanwhile the Special Investigating Team probing the Bihar topper scam had arrested five people involved in the matter. On Monday the Education department registered an FIr at the Kotwali police station against Saurabh Shrestha, Ruby Rai, Rahul Kumar under section 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120B of Indian Penal Code. FIR has also be registered against Baccha Rai, the owner of the Bishun Rai College and other officials involved in conducting of examinations.

Who is Baccha Rai

Baccha Rai a close aide of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Principal of VR College can be seen in several videos posted online where he campaigned for Lalu Yadav’s two son who stood for 2015 Bihar Assembly elections. People of Bihar reportedly said that there are more than 50 Baccha Rai kind of people who are leader of state education mafia.

According to BP leader Sushil Modi, “two months ago there were complaints at the Bihar’s education department against Rai but no action has been taken against him so far”.

Modi further added, “With huge amount of money and political contacts they can make anyone topper and can pass anyone”.
