In an earlier incident on August 14, unidentified men looted Rs 14.50 lakh from the staff of a finance company in Bihar’s East Champaran district. Three staff of a Bharat Finance Company Pvt Ltd were going to deposit money in a bank when the bike borne miscreants looted Rs 14.50 lakh at gunpoint from them near Chandmari chowk, Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Murli Manohar Manjhi said. On August 23, a group unidentified armed men looted Rs 38 lakh from the cash van of a bank in Punjab’s Amritsar. The incident took place at village Nangal Pannua where the robbers, who came on a car, intercepted the van at gun point.

They then threw chilly powder in the eyes of the driver and decamped with the cash.
