Bijwasan Constituency Election Result 2025: As the 10-year rule of the Aam Aadmi Party is set to end in the national capital, former Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal accepted the mandate and congratulated the BJP on their victory, while urging them to fulfill the promises made during the campaign.
The counting of votes for the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 began at 8 AM on Saturday, February 8, 2025. The New Delhi seat sees a high-profile three-way contest with former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal (AAP), BJP’s Parvesh Verma, and Congress’s Sandeep Dikshit (son of former CM Sheila Dikshit). These elections are high-stakes elections for AAP, BJP and Congress, as, AAP is hoping to retain its power for the third term while the BJP is eyeing to regain power after almost 27 years. Congress which once ruled the state for 15 years has struggled to claim even a seat in the 2015 and 2020 elections.
In this election, the party is hoping for a return. AAP, which currently holds more than 60 seats in the 70-seat assembly, seeks re-election based on its previous terms’ achievements. The counting of votes took place today, February 8.
Bijwasan is one of the 70 constituencies in the Delhi Legislative Assembly. During the 2020 elections, Bhupinder Singh Joon from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) emerged victorious with 57,271 votes. Sat Prakash Rana, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), secured 56,518 votes, while Praveen Rana of Congress received 5,937 votes.
