New Delhi, March 6: Often in news for his controversial remarks, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya was in completely different avatar this Holi. The BJP leader was seen dressed up as a rockstar and entertaining the crowd during a Hasya Kavi Sammelan in Indore.
Vijayvargiya tweeted a photo of him dressed up similar to late American rockstar Elvis Presley apart from the video of the event in which he performed. The BJP leader tagged his photo with a comment which read: “Aaj ka #bajarbattu kirdaar”.
The video shows Vijayvargiya shaking his legs holding a guitar on the stage while songs like “Saara Jamana Haseeno Ka Diwana” and “Hare Krishna, Hare Rama” being played on orchestra. At one point, the BJP leader even tries to copy iconic dance step of megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
Vijayvargiya is ‘infamous’ for making insensitive and controversial remarks in the past. From political opponents to superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Vijayvargiya has targeted all. In August last year, the top BJP leader had described West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as mausi (maternal aunt) of terrorists.
While addressing a public gathering in West Bengal’s North Paragana, Vijayvargiya had said that people of the state will stop referring Banerjee ‘didi’ and start calling her ‘mausi‘ of the terrorist for giving shelters to the intruders of Bangladesh.
“People are feeling ashamed of calling Mamata Banerjee ‘Didi’ in Bengal now because she is giving protection to the intruders. People will now stop referring you ‘Didi’ and will call you ‘Mausi’ (maternal aunt) of the terrorists. She helps them to bring bomb and AK47 rifles from Bangladesh,” he had said.
Some of Vijayvargiya’s Controversial Remarks
On Shah Rukh Khan: “Aisa lagta hai, woh rahte hain Hindustan mein, lekin unka aatma Pakistan mein hai (It seems he (Shah Rukh) lives here but his soul is in Pakistan).”
On Rahul Gandhi: “Congress ke manhoos upadhyaksh Rahul Gandhi ne videsh mantri Sushma Swaraj pe ghoos ke aarop lagayein hain (Congress’s ominous vice-president Rahul Gandhi has levelled corruption charges on External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj).”
On Vyapam Scam: “For us it (Vyapam) is a chutput (small) scam. It may be big for you.”
