Hyderabad, Aug 12: Controversial Bharatiya Janata Party Telangana MLA T Raja Singh on Sunday announced that he is resigning from the party to devote to work full time for the cow protection movement. Announcing his decision, Singh, who represents Goshamahal constituency in Hyderabad, said that he doesn’t want his devotion to cows to be linked to his party.

“I submitted my resignation letter to state party president Dr K Laxman four days ago. I have decided to step my agitation against cow slaughter and I don’t want it to be anyway associated to the party,” he said, accusing the state government of not doing anything for the protection of the bovine animal.

“The Telangana government is not taking any steps to prevent cow slaughtering in Hyderabad. The ruling party MLC’s are doing cattle exports, for the upcoming Bakri Eid, people are starving cattle in their houses, I will go to any extent for my Dharma and cows, as I treat them as my mother,” he added.

Explaining the reason behind his resignation, he said that whatever he is doing to protect the cows, “they are making an attack on Narendra Modi so don’t want my party or leaders should be blamed or attacked for my doings”.

Notably, this is his third resignation in the last two years. In 2017, he had resigned from the party but took it back.
