Lucknow, Dec 13: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Priyanka Rawat allegedly threatened an SDM in Barabanki when he went to remove illegal encroachments on government land. “Barabanki mein jeena mushkil kar dungi (I will make it difficult for you to live in Barabanki),” Priyanka Rawat reportedly told Ajay Kumar Diwedi, SDM of Sirauli Gausour. The SDM and his team were later forced to leave the spot by Rawat’s supporters.
Nayab Tehsildar and his team from the revenue department went to remove illegal encroachments on government land, which belongs to a government school. The land was being encroached upon by BJP divisional head Alok Singh. The officials were surrounded by Priyanka Rawat‘s supporters present there. As situations got tensed, SDM Ajay Kumar Dwivedi reached the spot, where he was confronted by MP Representative Rajesh Verma and threatened by the parliamentarian herself.
Speaking to a news channel, the SDM said Priyanka Rawat didn’t let Nayab Tehsildar and his team work. “Our team had to come back as hundreds gathered and stopped us from doing our duty. However, we will continue with our work,” Dwivedi was quoted as saying. According to a News18 report, the BJP MP began to provoke the people present on the spot and said, “Agar zarurat pade to dauda dena in logo ko (If required, chase them down).”
Priyanka Rawat has been in news earlier for misbehaving with government officials. She was accused of misbehaving with SSP Kunwar Singh and District Magistrate Akhilesh Tiwari. She landed in a controversy when she was seen flinging a plastic water bottle into the river Saryu in Gonda.
