New Delhi, Oct 29 : Congress today alleged that BJP was passing directions through the Delhi Lt Governor to ensure that INLD leader Om Prakash Chautala is transferred to Bhatinda Jail. It also claimed that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had a meeting with his Punjab counterpart in this regard. “BJP, which last year fought the Haryana assembly election saying they were against Chautala-led INLD, is now through the LG passing instructions to ensure that Chautala is transferred to Bhatinda Jail or parole is given to him as quickly as possible,” Party spokesperson Ajoy Kumar said. “It is public knowledge and newspapers also carried a story according to which the Bhatinda Jail is being prepared to welcome Chautala. New toilets and rooms are being made and new bed sheets and towels bought to welcome him,” he said. Kumar wanted to know if there were any “alliance between INLD and BJP” and what “instructions” the Modi government gave to the LG regarding parole to Chautala and his transfer to Bhatinda Jail.
He said Kejriwal should tell whether he met Dushyant Chautala and what was the purpose of the meeting. “It is interesting to see that Kejriwal made so many remarks on the parole he opposed, but did not speak a single word on the transfer part. “Did (Parkash Singh) Badal talk to Kejriwal on the transfer of Chautala to Bhatinda. Did Kejriwal agree that he will not object to the transfer of Chautala to Bhatinda Jail?” he asked. The AAP government yesterday accused Lt Governor Najeeb Jung of pressurising Home Minister Satyendar Jain to grant parole to Chautala, serving a decade-long jail term in teachers’ recruitment scam. The Chief Minister has also sent a two-page file noting on Chautala’s file expressing displeasure over LG’s alleged pressure on his minister and said he strongly oppose parole to the former Haryana CM.
