New Delhi, Aug 14: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is projected to win 227 seats out of 543 while the Congress party will manage to bag only 78 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha Election 2019, predicted a survey conducted by Times Now. Decoding people’s pulse ahead of the 2019 general elections, the opinion poll predicted that while the BJP will lose 55 seats as compared to its tally of 282 in the 2014 elections, the Congress will manage a gain of 34 seats. One of the major findings of the survey was that nearly half of the surveyed people believe that the performance of the NDA was better in the last four years. When asked about the Narendra Modi government’s performance in healthcare, economy, international relations and infrastructure, they gave 3.5 out of 5 stars to NDA. In the economy, 29% feel that the performance of the government was better while 21.8% believe that it was about the same. In healthcare, 20.2% believe the government has done a good work and in infrastructure, 34.1% respondents gave the party a thumbs up. Here’s the break-up of the survey conducted ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha Election:

In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP is projected to win 49 seats while the Congress is expected to bag only 3 seats. In 2014 elections, the saffron party had bagged 71 while the Rahul Gandhi-led Congress had managed 2. Other parties will get 28 seats. The total number of seats in Bihar is 40. In 2019 Lok Sabha polls, the BJP will win 14 and the Congress party will bag only 4 but that’s a two seats more from what it had managed in 2014 elections. Other parties will get 22 seats, the survey predicts.

In Chhattisgarh, BJP, which had won 10 seats in the last Lok Sabha polls, will win only 8 seats and the Congress will bag 3 seats. In last Lok Sabha elections, Congress had got only 1 seat.

It should be noted that the state is going to assembly polls in a few months and another survey has predicted huge gains for the Congress party with 54 of the 90 seats. The survey predicts that the BJP would be declared the runner-up with 33 seats. BJP is marginally ahead of the Congress in Central Chhattisgarh but would still lose out on the seat sharing.

In the Lok Sabha Election 2019, the BJP may face a setback this year. The party, which had won all the 26 seats in 2014, may just win 18 this year. The Congress, which had failed to open its account in the state, may manage with 8 seats in 2019.

In Rajasthan Assembly elections, the ABP-CVoter survey had predicted, the Congress will win a total of 51 per cent seats against BJP’s 37 per cent. Congress will make a comeback with 130 seats. The other parties would manage 13 seats.
