Surat: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Amit Shah on Sunday attacked the Opposition leaders for questioning the authenticity and demanding proof of IAF air strikes that decimated biggest terror hideouts of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Balakot. Claiming that Opposition statements brought a smile on Pakistan’s face, Shah asserted that he ‘feels ashamed’ after questions were raised on country’s armed forces.

“Mamata Ji asks for proof, Rahul Baba says it is being politicised, Akhilesh says it should be investigated. Feel ashamed, such statements bring a smile to Pakistan’s face,” Shah said while addressing a rally in Gujarat’s Surat.

Praising PM Narendra Modi‘s calmness in the face of adversity, Shah said, “Earlier jawans used to be beheaded and insulted but today, the situation is such that when our jawan fell in Pakistan while shooting down an F-16, within 24 hours he was back.” He credited PM Modi’s will power for this humongous change.

The BJP President went on to add that after the Pulwama terror attack “everyone thought that surgical strikes can’t be done this time, what will happen now?” “At that time PM Modi’s government did an airstrike on the 13th day and killed more than 250 terrorists,” quipped Shah.

Shah said opposition parties should keep quiet if they were unable to appreciate what PM Modi and the country’s armed forces had achieved through the air strike on a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror camp in Pakistan’s Balakot.

He further said with these strikes on terror camps, India has become only the third country in the world after the US and Israel to avenge attacks on its armed forces personnel. “Now the world accepts that India cannot be taken lightly. The entire world accepts that one cannot tamper with India’s borders. The entire world now accepts that it is not easy to touch Indian soldiers. They will get the response for a bullet with a cannon,” he added.
