New Delhi: Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad while addressing the media after the BJP National Executive Meeting exuded confidence in winning the 2019 Lok Sabha polls and quoted BJP President Amit Shah and said that once they win the election next year, no one will be able to remove them for the next 50 years.
Explaining Shah’s statement, Prasad added that the former didn’t make such a remark out of pride but on the basis of the work which they have been continuously doing.
Prasad said, “Party President Amit Shah also said that we will win 2019 polls & after 2019 polls victory, nobody will be able to remove us for next 50 years. We are not saying this out of pride but on basis of our work.”
Launching the new slogan for upcoming Lok Sabha polls, ‘Ajeya Bharat, Atal BJP’, RS Prasad said that the slogan was to honour the late former PM Vajpayee and his ideals. He said that PM Narendra Modi coined the phrase as he saw the vision of an India which will not be subjugated by anyone and BJP will remain firmly committed to this principle. With this, the saffron party passed a political resolution and vowed to build a “New India” by 2022.
Earlier in the day, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh passed a political resolution which praised PM Modi’s ‘Vision 2022’ and talked about ‘New India’ and a ‘poverty-free India’ where no one will be left shelterless. HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar too said the Prime Minister has “vision, passion and imagination” and the government’s win in 2019 elections is guaranteed.” PM Modi, he said, has maintained a “70 per cent popularity rate” because he “interacts directly with the people”.
