Actors Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam will also be present in the court for the verdict. Chief Judicial Magistrate Dev Kumar Khatri had reserved the judgment after final arguments in the case were completed in the trial court on March 28.
Salman Khan was accused of killing two blackbucks in Bhagoda ki Dhani in Kankani village near Jodhpur during the shooting of Hum Saath Saath Hain. He is facing charges under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, while the other actors have been charged under Section 51 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act read with Section 149 (unlawful assembly) of the Indian Penal Code. 52-year-old Salman Khan boarded a chartered plane from Mumbai to Jodhpur. He had been shooting in Abu Dhabi for his film Race 3. Actor Saif Ali Khan also arrived in the historical city on Wednesday.
The prosecution has alleged that the actors were in a Gypsy car, while Salman Khan was behind the wheel. He allegedly killed two blackbucks. They allegedly left the spot after being chased.
Salman Khan’s counsel HM Saraswat had contended that the prosecution failed to prove the allegations, while it engaged in tampering and fabricating evidence. “It even failed to prove that the blackbucks were killed by gunshots. Hence, such investigation cannot be trusted,” Saraswat had said.
