Jaipur, January 13: A local court in Jaipur who are listening to the blackbuck poaching case has asked Bollywood actor Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan actress Neelam, Tabu and Sonali Bendre to appear before the court on January 25. Earlier there were reports that the Jaipur court will announce its judgement in the arms act case against Bollywood actor on January 18 but it seems that the court will take one more week to announce its judgement in blackbuck poaching case.

Earlier this week the court of chief judicial magistrate after completing its hearing reserved its judgement, Hastimal Saraswat, counsel to Salman Khan was quoted by news agency IANS. On January 25, which is Wednesday, Salman Khan will have to come to the court when it announces the verdict in the 18-year-old case.

Salman Khan along with his co-Bollywood actors was accused of poaching blackbucks on the midnight of October 1-2, 1998, during the shooting of Bollywood movie “Hum Saath Saath Hain”.

During the incident, Salman Khan was accused of carrying and using illegal arms with an expired licence. After which a case under the Arms Act was registered against him.

In July 2016, Salman Khan was acquitted by the Rajasthan High Court in another case related to chinkara poaching. Salman had appealed before the Jodhpur bench of the high court challenging a lower court’s verdict in 2006 that handed him a one-year term and five-year term in the two separate cases of poaching. But, Salman Khan along with the state government had appealed before the high court challenging the lower court’s verdicts on various grounds.

In July, the high court while allowing the appeal of Salman, acquitted him of all the charges and also dismissed the appeal filed by the state government for enhancement of sentence. However, the Rajasthan government in October 2016, filed a special leave petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court against the acquittal by the high court in the chinkara poaching cases.
