Waris Pathan was quoted by Times of India where he said, “The poor suffer the most as most of them cannot afford purified water and therefore drink unsafe water and fall ill. We can sell a plate of food for Rs 5 by subsidising it”.

Former Congress leader Nizamuddin Rayeen welcomed the move of AIMIM and vowed to vanquish Congress, NCP and SP. During the public rally, Owaisi said, “If you speak against BJP, your are labelled as anti-national. If you speak against Congress and SP, you are called anti-seculars. But we will not stop from speaking against injustice”.

Nizamuddin Rayeen, a former minority cell leader, whose son Noaman is likely to be nominated from ward 213 (Nagpada-Kamathipura) on an MIM ticket, said Congress had lost its credibility among minorities. Rayeen said, “Congress’ facade of secularism is completely exposed”. The party claims to fight for the rights of minorities but actually, it does not practice what it preaches.

On the other side Congress leaders had that Rayeen wanted a ticket for his son and quit from the party as his request from Congress was rejected.
