New Delhi: The body of a young woman was found inside an abandoned suitcase near Kondli canal, near New Ashok Nagar. District Commissioner of Police (DCP) East confirmed the discovery was made late on Tuesday.
Someone travelling in an auto spotted the suitcase in the canal and informed the police. On arriving at the spot and opening the piece of luggage, police found the body of a woman around 25 years of age.
Her face had been disfigured by at least five blades and she sported a tattoo on her hand. The police are trying to locate a CCTV footage of the area.
On the other hand, in Delhi’s Paharganj area, the police have arrested a man after chasing him for nearly two kilometres.
Last year, in November, the Delhi police recovered a dead body from the basement of an under-construction building located in the Valmiki Nagar area. The police got to know about the dead body after it received a call regarding the presence of a corpse.
The body was identified as that of 34-year-old Beru by his brother, sister, and sister-in-law, who reside at the same building on a different floor. Reportedly, a squabble had taken place between him and four others with whom he used to share the space.
