Bomb threat call at Delhi Metro station turns hoax

New Delhi, May 14: Security officials were sent into a tizzy when a man called up the control room at Rajouri Garden metro station this evening and said that there was bomb planted in Janakpuri metro station.

The call was received around 8.45 PM, following which a thorough search was conducted at both Janakpuri East and West stations on the blue line of Delhi metro, but no suspicious object was spotted, police said. “It was a hoax call and a case has been registered,” DCP (Metro) Jitender Mani said. ALSO READ: Srinagar-Delhi IndiGo flight grounded after bomb threat

Investigators soon tracked the caller and a team was sent to his residence in west Delhi’s Sagarpur area. The man has been identified as one Subhash Chand. He is being interrogated but why he made the hoax call could not be ascertained yet, police said.
