Breaking news Highlights January 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new Circuit House near Somnath Temple in Gujarat at 11:00 am via video conferencing today (Friday, January 21), Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) informed. The inauguration was followed by the Prime Minister’s address on the occasion. Somnath Temple is visited by lakhs of devotees from India and abroad every year. The need for the new Circuit House was felt as the existing government facility was located far off from the temple. The new Circuit House has been built at a cost of over Rs 30 crore and is located near the Somnath Temple, the PMO said.     Ugandan national held at Chennai airport for possessing heroin worth Rs 7 crore

    Over one kilogram of heroin worth Rs 7 crore was seized and a citizen of Uganda was arrested in this connection, the Customs department authorities said on Friday, according to PTI. Acting on specific inputs, the department officials intercepted the 29-year-old passenger who arrived here from Sharjah on Thursday.
    During a personal search, 108 capsules concealed in his inner garments were retrieved. The capsules contained powder that upon testing was identified as heroin. In total, 1.07 kg of heroin worth Rs 7 crore was seized and the Ugandan national was arrested, an official release from the Commissioner of Customs said.
