New Delhi, Mar 9: Three persons died on Friday as a major fire broke out at a pharmaceutical factory in Tarapur area of Palghar on Thursday evening. Several others are said to be injured as the flames spread to three other plants located near the pharmaceutical factory in MIDC area. Reportedly, the fire started in Novaphene Specialties private limited in E-107 unit after a powerful blast a boiler containing industrial solvent. Eight fire tenders are presently working to douse the flames.
The incident comes on a day when the Maharashtra Budget 2018-19 will be presented. State Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar will be presenting his fourth consecutive budget today. The month-long budget session of the Maharashtra legislature will begin on February 26. It will have 22 working days and nine holidays. The session will end on March 28.
