Breaking News Updates August 7, 2021: India recorded 44,643 new coronavirus infections yesterday taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 3,18,56,757, while the active cases registered an increase for the third consecutive day. The death toll climbed to 4,26,754 with 464 fresh fatalities. An increase of 3,083 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. Meanwhile, rains are predicted to lash several states today including Delhi, UP and its adjoining areas. A few regions have been witnessing a flood-like situation due to heavy monsoon rains and rescue operations for those stranded are underway.
