In Budget 2018, Arun Jaitley may reportedly tweak income tax slabs and rates to provide more relief to middle-class people. Speculation has been rife that the Finance Minister may increase the income tax exemption limit to Rs 3 lakh from Rs 2.5 lakh. The government may also reportedly bring a new tax slab for people with income between Rs 5 and 7.50 lakh annually.
