New Delhi, Jan 31: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar met Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in New Delhi on Tuesday. Sources said Nitish apprised Jaitley about Bihar’s needs and also demanded allocation of appropriate funds for central government and central government-funded projects in Bihar in the Budget 2018. Jaitley will be presenting the last full budget of the Modi government before the 2019 general election on Thursday, February 1.
During his two-day Delhi visit, CM Nitish Kumar is also expected to meet Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari. During his visit to Patna on Monday, Gadkari approved several projects including the ambitious Ring Road plan for the capital city.

When Nitish Had Called Jaitley’s Budget Speech ‘Boring’
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s 2017 Budget speech was termed as ‘boring’ and ‘disappointing’ by Nitish Kumar, whose Janata Dal-United was then part of the Grand Alliance or Mahagathbandhan with Lalu Yadav’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress.

“Jaitley’s speech was disappointing and boring. I patiently heard him for two hours with the hope of something new to come. But there was nothing in his speech which can kindle the hope for speeding up the country’s economy,” Nitish Kumar had said.
“In fact, Bihar got nothing from Jaitley’s package. There will be no bigger injustice to Bihar than not fulfilling the promises made to its people and not releasing the arrears?” he added.
