New Delhi, Feb 1: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for presently a “new India” Budget 2018 and said that this financial bill would strengthen the roots of the country and would bring new opportunities to rural India. “This (Budget 2018) is farmer friendly, common man friendly, business friendly and development friendly,” Modi said following the Budget 2018 presentation in Parliament. “This budget will accelerate economic growth, it is focused on all sectors. Speaking about the ‘Operation Green’, Modi said that the initiative would prove beneficial for the production of agricultural products. PM Modi also congratulated the finance minister for his decision regarding Minimum Support Price. “I am sure it will help the farmers tremendously. It will add to the Ease of Living” he said. “Humne ease of living ki bhaavna ka vistaar ujjwala yojna mein bhi dekha hai. Ye yojna desh ke ghareeb mahilaon ko na sirf dhuyen se mukti dila rahi hai balki unke sashaktikaran ka bhi bada maadhyam bani hai (We have seen the expansion of Ease of Living in the Ujjwala Yojna. This initiative has been a medium of empowerment for women living in rural India),” he said.
Reacting to Arun Jaitley’s Budget 2018, agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh said, “Budget 2018 is a testimony to PM Narendra Modi’s commitment towards agricultural growth and farmers’ welfare. The budget presented by finance minister Arun Jaitley is packed with policies and funds to boost the agricultural sector and it takes care of every aspect of agrarian sector.”
“Announcements regarding education, health and agriculture have been made. A national health protection scheme to benefit 10 crore poor families has been announced; it is a huge initiative. I would like to congratulate the government,” said chief minister Nitish Kumar.
