Bulandshahr: The district police released pictures of the 18 accused absconding in the Bulandshahr violence case and has said it will attach their movable properties. On Thursday, a local court had issued a non-bailable warrant against all the accused, including Yogesh Raj.
Yogesh Raj is the convener of the district unit of Bajrang Dal and one of prime accused in the case. The police have been able to arrest four people until now.
SSP Bulandshahr Prabhakar Choudhary said, “SIT is investigating the incident in Siyana, some of the accused have been jailed and non-bailable warrants issued against others. We’re trying to arrest those who are absconding; if they’re not arrested soon, we will put a prize on their heads”.
Meanwhile, Army jawan, Jitendra Malik alias Jeetu Fauji, has been sent to a 14-day judicial custody by a local court.
Speaking on Fauji’s arrest, Army Chief General Bipin Rawat had urged media not to “prejudge” things without proof.
“Do not prejudge events without evidence. Please come out with facts. If you have facts available, then judge,” Rawat said when asked for his comments after a soldier, Jitendra Malik was accused of shooting the senior cop dead during mob violence on December 3.
Meanwhile, Fauji’s kin had alleged that he was being framed. “My brother is being trapped in some conspiracy, he’s not involved in the killing of Inspector. I’ve evidence to prove that my brother wasn’t present at the site where the incident took place. I request CM to help me,” his brother Dharmendra Malik had said.
On December 3, inspector Subodh Singh Kumar and a local, identified as Sumit, were killed in the violence, which erupted after the carcasses of 25 cattle were found in the forests close to a police post. The locals had alleged that the carcasses found were of the cows, which were slaughtered illegally.
According to sources, the post-mortem examination conducted on Subodh Kumar Singh had confirmed gunshot injury on his head.
