New Delhi, March 18: Following the confirmation of appointment of Adityanath as the next chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen Party (AIMIM) chief and MP Asaduddin Owaisi commented using the micro-blogging site Twitter that Mr. Modi is making a new”New India” in UP, following which many people retorted to Owaisi’s sarcasm with not much equivalent humour.

While the appointment of ‘Yogi’ Adityanath as the chief minister of  UP has surprised many across the nation, the reaction of Owaisi has attracted many attention because of his outspoken ways and constant tussle with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). However, the use of quotes seems to emphasise the speculated saffronisation of the state of UP. Apart from the AIMIM leader, JD(U) senior leader KC Tyagi also raised concern as to how the appointment of Adityanath as the CM, the political condition of UP will be far polarised.

However, the opposition like all the other recent developments have not been able to influence the BJP or its decisions in any way. While it was only a speculation that Adityanath might be the next CM of UP, when that speculation actually turned true, many could not accept it. While Twitter flooded with people tweeting for and against Adityanath as the CM, many have asked if BJP in its 312 winners, lacked anyone more qualified than Yogi Adityanath as the CM.

Obviously, with the rise of Adityanath as the the CM, the political and religious dynamic of the state is bound to be uncomfortable. Moreover, many would now expect a new phase in the whole Ram Mandir issue, as Adityanath has been one of the prime voices to fuel the issue. Apart from that he is allegedly involvement and using strong-arm tactics in cases of rioting, love-jihad and cow-protection drives, under his organisation named Hindu Yuva Vahini.
