With the exit polls already released, it has become a tough question to say which party might have an upper hand. While some survey predicted Congress retaining its position in the state, some hinted that the saffron party might end up winning this 2018 Karnataka Assembly Election.
C.V. Raman Nagar constituency which saw a total of 2, 60,559 voters will now see the results of the voting today. Although the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had an upper hand here as the incumbent, it will be interesting to see if the Congress and JD(S) can battle it out. This year, BJP has fielded S Raghu against Congress’ R Sampath Raj and JD (S) P Ramesh. INC won the Shanti Nagar constituency seat both in the 2013 and 2008 Karnataka Assembly Elections. BJP could be a game changer if it wins this electoral seat. Similarly in Shivaji Nagar, BJP fielded Katta Subramanya Naidu as against R Roshan Baig from Congress and Shaikh Mastan Ali from JD (S). Here, the Congress won in the 2013 Karnataka Assembly Elections with a margin of 20,855 votes.
In Gandhi Nagar constituency, Dinesh Gundu Rao from Congress was pitted against BJP’s A R Sapthagiri Gowda, JD (S) V Narayanaswamy and AAP’s A Elankovan. While in Rajaji Nagar constituency, BJP has its incumbent S. Suresh Kumar and is likely to make sure it retains its seat.
