Chandigarh, Nov 30: In a startling claim, Leader of Opposition and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) legislator Sukhpal Singh Khaira said Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s friend Aroosa Alam is a Pakistani spy. Aroosa Alam reportedly stayed at the official residence of Amarinder Singh. Sukhpal Singh Khaira also accused the Congress government of framing him in a drug case. Uproar witnessed on the third day of Punjab Assembly’s winter session when AAP MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira targetted Captain Amarinder Singh using some unprintable words. He questioned Aroosa Alam’s stay at the Chief Minister’s official residence and said, “Aroosa Alam is a Pakistani spy. Khaira further questioned the state government over the steps taken by it against illegal mining, prompting a sharp reaction from the treasury benches. He cited newspapers report and on illegal mining and demanded action by the government. Later, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Brahm Mohindra and Cabinet minister Navjot Singh Sidhu also engaged in a heated exchange with Khaira and asked him to tender an apology for casting aspersions on Congress MLAs. Khaira later withdrew his remarks against Congress MLAs on the issue of illegal mining but stuck to his demand for an inquiry into the matter.
