Caught on camera: Rajiv Kumar Sharma, Akali Dal leader in Ludhiana attacked brutally by goons (Watch Video)

According to police the incident took place on Sunday morning at Dhandara road near Satjot nagar in Ludhiana Punjab where some goons equipped with choppers, hockey sticks and butchers knife attacked Akali Dal leader outside his ground floor residence.

Ludhiana, May 9: A senior leader of Akali Dal Rajiv Kumar Sharma has been brutally injured by goons who attacked the victim outside his residence, injuring both his legs and fled away with Rs 3 lakh. The incident took place on Sunday morning and was captured on a nearby cctv camera.

According to police the incident took place on Sunday morning at Dhandara road near Satjot nagar in Ludhiana Punjab where some goons equipped with choppers, hockey sticks and butchers knife attacked Sharma outside his ground floor residence. The entire incident took place in a broad daylight and the family members of the victim locked themselves at their residence.

Report suggest that the goons then entered the residence of Sharma and fled away with Rs 3 lakh cash. The accused are identified as Akhilesh, Davinder, Neeraj and Sangam and two more who have been booked in attempt to murder case and robbery. After police started their probe they found that the accused were also behind the Saturday’s brutal attack where two brothers were beaten at their office over car parking row.

The incident that took place on Saturday was also caught on camera, in which Gurpeet Singh and his brother a Ludhiana based businessman was brutally attacked with butchers knife. According to report, one of the accused Akhilesh who is absconding is a habitual criminal and runs a gym in the vicinity.

Sharma’s nephew said that his uncle borrowed the money from his friend and was counting in the morning when the attackers barged at the victims residence. After leaving the spot they also fled away with Rs 3 lakh. The cops are probing entire incident.
