New Delhi, Feb 2: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday filed a chargesheet against rape convict Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim and two of his followers Dr Pankaj Garg and Dr M P Singh in connection with the castration of hundreds of followers inside the dera campus near Sirsa town in Haryana.

The chargesheet has been filed nearly three years after the Punjab and Haryana High Court directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to probe the allegations that the controversial sect chief had forced castration of his followers.

The petition in the high court was filed by former sect follower Hans Raj Chauhan who alleged that he had been castrated at the behest of the sect chief. (ALSO READ – ‘Will Wipe Off India From World Map’: Honeypreet Confesses Role in Panchkula Violence)

Chauhan had claimed that he along with 400 followers were castrated inside the Dera premises after being told that this will lead them closer to God.

Last year on August 28, special CBI court had sentenced godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh to 20 years of imprisonment, 10-year each for the two rape cases in which he was convicted. The rape convict was also ordered to pay a fine of Rs 15 lakh by Justice Jagdeep Singh.
