New Delhi, July 23: Indian revolutionary, Chandra Shekhar Azad was born on this day, in Bhawra in Madhya Pradesh. On his 87th birth anniversary people are paying tribute to the great freedom fighter. Popularly known as Azad as he had vowed that he would never be arrested by the British police hence remain azad (free) and kept his promise by using his last bullet to shoot himself in the head.
Whenever you think about freedom fighters and the freedom of India against Britishers the first name will hit in your mind and that is Chandra Shekhar Azad. He was one of the great freedom fighter who was born on July 23 1906 in Madhya Pradesh. He was born as a Chandra Shekhar but he was a free man as he never get caught by his enemies which added Azad in his name. Azad was a great and powerful revolutionary of India, wanted to get rid of independent India from the clutches of the British.
In his early age he started his revolution by joining Mahatma Gandhi’s non-cooperation movement, later he picked weapons to fight for independence against Britishers. Azad started Hindustan Socialist Republic Association which was established at the Jhansi camp along with his coworker Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev.
He always used to say “Dushman ki goliyon ka hum samna karenge, Azad hi rahein hain, azad hi rahenge!” (Will face the foe’s bullet, I am free, I shall remain free.)
Chandrasekhar Azad had vowed not to enter the hands of the British till his death, and he did not even come in the hands of the British till his last breathe. In his last moment he had shot himself proudly instead of going to the British. He sacrificed his life for freedom.
Chandrasekhar Azad was a famous freedom fighter and a great revolutionary of the India. He wrote a new story of courage from his sacrifice. After his death thousands of youth were jammed into the freedom movement and this made easy for India to get independence. After 15 years of the martyrdom of Azad, on August 15, 1947, his dream of India’s independence was complete. Azad will always be remembered as a great freedom fighter.
Today, Azad is popularly known for his great revolutionary life. Azad himself shot in Alfred Park in Allahabad. After his death this park was renamed Chandrasekhar Azad Park. After his death, the names of many schools, colleges, colleges and social institutions in India were also named after him.
Today on the auspicious occasion of his birth anniversary people pays tribute to to the revolutionary Chandra Shekhar Azad and remembers him as a great freedom fighter.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah also paid a tribute to Chandra Shekhar Azad and tweeted the only purpose of Chandra Shekhar Azad’s life was the independence of Mother Bharti for which he offered all his offerings;
