New Delhi: Disgruntled BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha heaped praises on Congress president Rahul Gandhi in his tweet on Friday, calling him ‘charming and confident’, while hailing his recent Lok Sabha speech.
Sinha’s comments come in the wake of his heightened inward attacks on his party, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).
Only a few days ago, the veteran actor had questioned the BJP’s intentions on attacking the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and further hailed her as a ‘Bengal Tigress’ in the same tweet.
He directed his ire towards the BJP leadership at the time of meltdown between the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Kolkata Police, following which CM Banerjee sat on a three-day dharna (sit-in protest).
The Patna MP was recently also nudged by Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi, who presumably tired of his constant criticism of BJP, advised him to quit the party.
A Hindustan Times report quoted Sushil Modi, “Shatrughan Sinha is also my icon but the manner in which he is targeting the BJP, he should quit. He is using unwarranted language against the party which had made him the cabinet minister, a Rajya Sabha MP for two terms and also gave two terms in the Lok Sabha”.
