Chengannur, May 27: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) CPI(M) which has a strong foothold in the Chengannur seat is confident of winning the bypolls, which will be held tomorrow. As per a Livemint report, Kerala’s ruling Communist Party of India (Marxist), or CPM chief Kodiyeri Balakrishnan exuded confidence and said that CPM will surely win this bypoll. Chengannur assembly seat which has three fronts- the CPI(M), Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) contesting against each other and is going to bypolls tomorrow will test the political forces mettle for the upcoming Lok Sabha bypolls. State CPM Chief Balakrishnan who is confident of its party’s win also stated that both Congress and BJP will take the second and third place respectively. Balakrishnan added that BJP was now eyeing tomorrow’s bypoll in Kerala’s Chengannur assembly seat as it lost the recent Karnataka elections as well as the Tripura elections last year. He also said that though BJP is looking forward to win the Kerala bypoll for cementing its base in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, both PM Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah were welcome to secure their position in the bypolls. He further added that CPM’s agenda was clear and they wanted to work for the development of the state. The only aim of CPM is to work towards the welfare of the people.
