Chennai, Aug 12: Two people were injured after actor Vikram’s son Dhruv and his friends rammed their car into an auto-rickshaw. The police booked the group including Dhruv for “rash driving”, “endangering lives of others” and other relevant sections of the IPC. He was later released on bail after no complaint was filed against him. The injured person is currently undergoing treatment at Royapettah government hospital.
The incident was reported on Sunday morning in Chennai’s Teynampet area. Soon after ramming the car into parked autorickshaws, the car sped away from the spot. The driver did not stop the car even when the police tried to halt it. The accused were taken into custody when the car finally came to a half after it lost control and hit a wall in Alwarpet.
The reports said that Dhruv was accompanied by two more people. One of the accused even tried to run away from the spot and refused to get into the police van when he realised that he was being filmed.
“While returning from a friend’s house on early Sunday morning, Dhruv’s car crashed into autorickshaws. One person was injured in the accident and he was immediately rushed to the hospital. He was treated for his injuries and later discharged. We would like to clarify that the accident happened only due to lack of attention behind the wheels and no other reason,” Vikram’s manager said in a statement.
