New Delhi, May 20: A Border Security force (BSF) jawan on Sunday allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself after murdering his wife, Rajni Kumari in Trichy city of Chennai. The deceased was identified as Ranjit and is a resident of Bihar Sharif town. Mother of the wife has alleged that it was a case of dowry, however, Ranjit’s family members have not issued any comments on the incident so far.
According to reports, Rajni worked in the Railways and was paid a decent amount. Ranjit used to demand money from her time to time. It once happened that Ranjit asked for 3.65 lakh from Rajni; she gave him the asked amount. After seven months, when she asked Ranjit to return the amount, he denied. They used to quarrel over it.
On May 19, Ranjeet tried to add poison to his wife’ drink but failed to kill her. Later, he shot her to death with a service revolver and then, shot himself too. He was also taken to a Police Sadar Hospital in a critical condition, where he died late at night. The couple is survived by a daughter who was at maternal grandmother’s house at the time of the incident.
