Baloda Bazar: Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, Congress President Rahul Gandhi said that the PM has forgotten that country is run by the people and not by a single person.

While addressing a rally ahead of the second phase of polling in Chhattisgarh on November 20, Gandhi further attacked PM Modi by alleging that according to the latter, development in the country only began after 2014 when he came to power.

Gandhi added that PM Modi insulted the intelligence of the ‘mango man’ by making misleading statements on the development of the country. He said, “He (Modi) doesn’t even know that the country is run by the people and not by a single man. He insults you by making such comments.”

Reiterating that PM Modi did not do anything to bring back Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi, and, Vijay Mallya who fled the country with thousands of crores of rupees belonging to the people of India, Gandhi said that the PM did not even utter a single word. He further claimed that even in case of Rafale row, only two names will crop up, that is, Narendra Modi and Anil Ambani if an investigation is to be carried out.

Gandhi claimed Anil Ambani was chosen over HAL for the Rafale deal despite HAL having 70 years experience in manufacturing fighter aircraft. “Anil Ambani didn’t have the experience. He may not have made even a paper airplane,” he said.

Adding that Congress wasn’t against big industrialists, Gandhi said that if the government extends a benefit to them, small and medium business should not be neglected either.

Exuding confidence, Gandhi further said that results of the upcoming polls in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and other states will be in favour of Congress. He added that if Congress comes to power in the tribal state, it will work for the development of agriculture, education, and health of the people.
