Raipur, Mar 19: Chhattisgarh School Education Department was left red-faced on Monday as the secretary pulled it up for releasing incorrect data on Twitter about the number of government-run schools in the state. On Sunday, the department had boasted on Twitter that there were 2,43,827 schools in the state. It didn’t stop at just the tweet; it added a graphic to go with the post. The number is way higher than 55,329, the actual number of all schools in the state, according to the official website of the department. While thousands of users lapped up the tweet, department secretary Vikassheel pulled up the department for going with incorrect numbers. This is not the first time being earnest on Twitter has caused embarrassment to users and amusement to the public.
