Chopper with Kiren Rijiju force land in Tawang due to bad weather

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju had a narrow escape today when the helicopter in which he was flying from Arunachal Pradesh had to force land in Tawang due to bad weather.

New Delhi, April 23: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju had a narrow escape today when the helicopter in which he was flying from Arunachal Pradesh had to force land in Tawang due to bad weather.

The incident happened when Rijiju was returning from Tawang after visiting flood damage area this afternoon.

“While flying back above Bhutan weather turn very bad so we were forced to turn back and land in Tawang,” Rijiju, the Union Minister of State for Home, said.(ALSO READ:No pressure on NIA to give clean chit to anyone: Kiren Rijiju).

At least 17 people were killed when a massive landslide triggered by incessant rains hit a labour camp in Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh yesterday.

Rijiju, who is an MP from the area, had visited the landslide affected areas and met families of the victims before returning to Guwahati en route Delhi.
