New Delhi, December 31: Motorist living in New Delhi have at-least one good news by the start of 2016, as the Union Petroleum Ministry has decided to cut short prices of Compressed Natural Gas from 1st of January during odd-hours. Dharmedra Pradhan, Union Petroleum Minister, on Thursday said, “CNG in NCR will be available on cheaper prices at odd hours from 1st January”. Pradhan did not mentioned about the price reduced by his ministry on CNG per unit but this news will bring smile on faces of CNG users who were also granted some exemption by Arvind Kejriwal’s odd-even formula. While talking about Delhi’s odd-even formula which will be implemented from tomorrow, Pradhan said, “We support any good initiative in direction to curb pollution”.
CNG vehicles are exempted from the fortnight-long experimental odd-even scheme that will allow odd numbered private cars to run only on odd-numbered dates and even numbered private cars on even-numbered dates.
Nearly 8,00,000 CNG vehicles owners in Delhi NCR are looking for ‘CNG Stickers’. There are around 325 gas stations in Delhi NCR out of which few are open during the night. In Delhi there are 95 gas stations alone.
The Delhi government`s odd-even scheme exempted CNG-run cars, public buses, CNG autos, two-wheelers, women drivers, and VIP vehicles, provided if they have stickers.
