Cold wave intensifies in Rajasthan as temperature drops to 2.9 degrees in Sikar; Bihar, Himachal, and Uttarakhand facing chilly weather

A dense fog alert has been issued for Mandi, Bilaspur, and Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh.

New Delhi: Temperatures are steadily dropping below the freezing point in the hilly states. Cold winds from there are also increasing the chill in the plains. Temperatures in 17 cities of Haryana dropped below 10 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, November 26, with Narnaul recording the lowest temperature of 5.5 degrees.

Temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius were recorded in Naugaon, Morena, Rewa, Datia, Chitrakoot, Khajuraho, and Sidhi in Madhya Pradesh. Two people died in Rewa and Raisen due to severe cold recently. Dense fog and clouds have been looming over many areas of the state, including Bhopal, for two days.

Rainfall expected in Rajasthan

Rainfall is expected on Thursday, 27 November 2025, in seven districts of Rajasthan, including Udaipur, Bhilwara, and Ajmer. Temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius were recorded in 11 cities of the state on Wednesday, November 26. Fatehpur recorded the lowest temperature of 2.9 degrees.

Cold winds have caused temperatures to drop in Bikaner, Jaipur, and Bharatpur divisions. The weather department has predicted cloudy skies in Udaipur, Jodhpur, and Ajmer divisions. Fatehpur in Sikar recorded the lowest temperature of 2.9 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours. The hill station of Mount Abu recorded a minimum temperature of 5 degrees.

Dense fog and severe cold in Bihar

Dense fog and severe cold are adding to the hardships of people in Bihar. On Wednesday, temperatures in eight districts ranged from 9 to 15 degrees. Buxar recorded the lowest temperature of 9.6 degrees. Due to fog, 14 flights were delayed at Patna Airport on Wednesday. 52 trains had to be cancelled. Of these, 20 trains were scheduled to originate and pass through Patna.

Gauri Kund Lake in Uttarakhand freezes

Continuous frost is falling in Uttarakhand, increasing the cold. The temperature in Adi Kailash in Pithoragarh dropped to minus 14 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, November 2, freezing the Gauri Kund Lake. Tourists were seen standing on the ice and taking photos. Light fog was seen in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar. The Meteorological Department has predicted dry weather in the state until December 2.

Himachal Pradesh

A dense fog alert has been issued in Mandi, Bilaspur, and Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh. Visibility may drop below 100 meters. Drivers have been advised to drive cautiously. On Wednesday, the minimum temperature in 26 cities was recorded below 10 degrees and in 12 cities below 5 degrees. The night temperature in Shimla was recorded at 6.6 degrees. Tourists were seen enjoying horseback riding in the cold on the Shimla Ridge on Wednesday.
