Panchkula, Nov 10: A boy was found dead in his car with a gunshot wound on his head on Morni road in Panchkula on Thursday morning. The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Tanishq Bhasin, son of Punjab and Haryana high court advocate Sunil Bhasin. A resident of Sector 4, Panchkula, he was a second-year commerce student at SD College, Sector 32, Chandigarh. The incident came to light when the car was spotted by a passeby around 9 am on Thursday. Also Read - Hyderabad Swimmer Who Saved People From Suicides Starts 'Sonu Sood Ambulance Service'

“The car was locked from inside. The victim was found dead on the driver’s seat with a bullet injury to the head,” assistant commissioner of police (ACP, law and order) Noopur Bishnoi was quoted as saying in a Hindustan Times report. The police also recovered a revolver along with an empty shell from inside the car. Adding further, Bishnoi said that initial investigation claim it to be a case of suicide. The police have also recovered blades, mobile phone and other belongings from the victim’s bag. Meawhile, footage of CCTVs installed on the route is being checked to ascertain his final movement.

The teenager’s body is kept in the mortuary at Government Hospital, Sector 6 and the postmortem will be conducted on Friday.

Tanishq had left home at 6.30 pm on Wednesday to meet his friends. He had called his father around 10.30 pm to inform him that he would get late.

His family is finding it hard to digest that Tanishq had committed suicide and have asked the police to probe the case from all angles.
