New Delhi, May 16: The young brigade of the Congress on Tuesday hit out at the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party on the day it won the huge mandate exactly three years ago. The Congress presented the facts through a video, titled ‘3 years, 30 tigdam (gimmick)’ exposing the government’s claim on various issues including demonetisation, ceasefire violation by Pakistan, women security, MGNREGA, farmers among others.

Questioning what the Narendra Modi government is exactly celebrating, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi said, “Youth are struggling to find jobs, farmers are committing suicide and soldiers are dying at the border. What exactly is the government celebrating? Three years of broken promises, non performance and betrayal of a mandate.”

Addressing a press conference at the AICC headquarters, Congress leaders Randeep Singh Surjewala, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Sachin Pilot, RPN Singh, Sushmita Dev and Divya Spandana highlighted the various issues on which the government failed. “The country is in plight and the credit goes to BJP. Foreign policies changed like weather. What steps are being taken against Pakistan,” Scindia asked.

Pilot raised the issue of condition of farmers and how the government failed to work for their upliftment. The Rajasthan leader highlighted that the government failed to give the Minimum Support Price (MSP) to the farmers. The national capital witnessed the protest by Tamil Nadu for over a month at Jantar Mantar.

The Congress also showed the change in stance before and after assuming power at the Centre on Goods and Service Tax, Aadhaar, MGNREGA and others. The party also took the opportunity to remind Modi of the promises of giving Rs 15 lakh to every citizen by bringing back black money, special packages for Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir.

The Narendra Modi government will celebrate its third anniversary on May 26 and a host of programmes are being scheduled to celebrate the day.
