Amethi, Aug 6: Congress activists today launched a programme named ‘Zameen ki ladai zameen par’ (the dispute of land over the ground) here with a view to awaken people of the village here against the alleged anti-social and anti-people policies of state and Central government. The decision was taken at a meeting presided by President of District Congress Committee, Yogendra Mishra, and was attended by most of the office bearers of the party at its Gauriganj office, Congress leaders said. Party activists will organise ‘chaupals’ at the village level from August 13 to 16 and try to awaken people against the anti-people policies of state and Centre, Mishra said, adding that August 9 will be celebrated as ‘Kranti Divas’ at the party office in Gauriganj.
Also the party accused the Modi government and Sushma Swaraj of “once againa misleading the country “shamelessly and unabashedly”. It latched on to Sushma’s tweets of June 14 in which she “admitted that she enabled the British government to give Lalit Modi travel documents. As admitted, his (Lalit Modi’s) request for travel documents had been rejected by British authorities on July 3, 2014. Obviously, only Sushma Swaraj’s intervention helped Lalit Modi get the travel documents by making the British authorities reverse their decision,” the Congress argued.
