New Delhi, Mar 17: Bharatiya Janata Party chief Amit Shah on Saturday mocked Congress party saying that the party is happy without any rhyme or reason. Shah, while speaking at Zee India Conclave, said that the Congress has lost a total of 11 states but celebrates victory on 11 seats. “What kind of politics is this?” Shah asked. Accusing the party of being responsible for India’s partition in 1947, the BJP chief said, “This is the party responsible for the division of the country. The BJP was not present during 1947.” Also Read - Prove Corruption Charges or Face Criminal Defamation Suit, Narayanasamy Hits Back at Amit Shah

“Whenever BJP government came into power – Atal Bihari or Narendra Modi – the country developed and stayed together. It wasn’t divided,” he added. Further attacking Congress party, Shah asked: “Can Congress answer why every household didn’t have electricity or drinking water or bank accounts when it was in power? BJP government ensured that every village in the country gets electricity now, crores of people benefitted from it. We can give concrete proof of the facts. Illusions have no place anymore. The voters know the truth,” he added. Talking about the saffron party’s performance in Gorakhpur and Phulpur by-elections 2018, the BJP chief said that the party isn’t ignoring the bypoll results. “We will look into the UP bypolls results soon. Praising Yogi Adityanath even more, he said that with the Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh, the schemes launched by PM Narendra Modi have been able to reach grass root levels including farmers. “The Yogi Adityanath government is one of the best governments in India. 68 per cent citizens believed in BJP and voted for the party” he added. Confident of BJP’s victory in the Lok Sabha elections, Shah said, “We are not accustomed to winning. We just started winning. We’re not drunk on victories. This is new for us. But we will keep working and win 2019 elections. There is no threat to NDA.” He added: “Karnataka will be the 21st state for BJP” and went on to discuss how PM Modi works 20 hours a day.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also spoke at the Zee India Conclave and said that the BJP will do better and win 80 seats in the 2019 elections. “The bypolls are fought on local issues. In 2019, the elections will be fought on national issues. We’ll focus more on 2019 Lok Sabha elections. We’ll do better, win 80 seats next time,” Adityanath said. “The outcome of Gorakhpur and Phulpur by-elections is a lesson for us. But there are places where BJP has won for the first time,” he added.

On being asked if he thinks it would be all political parties versus BJP in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Adityanath said, “It is not all parties vs BJP but all parties vs PM Narendra Modi. It is not the party the opposition wants to stop. The Opposition wants to stop Modiji‘s growth. But BJP will prove it’s worth by winning the future elections.”

When the UP CM was asked if the “Brand Adityanath” has taken a hit, he admitted that it definitely has and one of the reasons for it is overconfidence. Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad also expressed his confidence that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will win 2019 Lok Sabha elections and Narendra Modi will become Prime Minister for the second time.
