Congress MLA Manas Bhuniya starts indefinite fast

Kolkata, Sept 16: Senior Congress MLA Manas Bhuniya today started his indefinite fast demanding arrest of the culprits involved in the murder of Chatra Parishad actvist Krishnapada Jana in West Midnapore last month. “I want the culprits involved in the brutal murder of Krishnapada Jana last month arrested. The police is acting as a tool of the ruling party,” Bhuniya said while addressing party worker on the first day of his fast.

He said the district police was arresting those who have sought justice in the case of Jana.
“Those who are the main culprits, are roaming free and those who are seeking justice are either harrassed or arrested,” Bhuniya said. The Congress students’ wing Chatra Parishad had called a shutdown across Bengal on August 18 last to protest the killing of Jana.
